A Small Reminder…
As I’m sitting and looking at the summer list one of my girls made only 5 short months ago, it’s a small reminder for me to keep asking, keep connecting, keeping having conversations, and keep making the most time for the most precious blessings we have, our girls.
Stepping into New Seasons
Tomorrow is technically the first day of Fall…
Tomorrow is technically the beginning of a new season…
Tomorrow technically marks the start of something different, something new…
And today is the day the Lord has made...
Make Time for a Good Book
I’m reminded that it’s not just about the book or the lessons in the book, it’s the time spent together. It’s the conversations. It’s dreaming big and hearing how God moves in big ways and small ways, and it’s being reminded that we, no matter how big or small, have a part of His plan, too. It’s putting stories of hope and encouragement in our pockets for tough days when we need to pull from His promises and remind ourselves that we have a miracle working God.
Rest in the Midst of a New School Year
I'm stepping into another school year. Although it's my 16th year overall, it's my first as a head principal. The word on my heart, after one week of school, is Rest.
The amount of time, meticulous planning, preparation and vision he poured into you and me, similar to how He planned meticulously with the tabernacle and temple, humbles me. Time with Him produces fire and rivers flowing of His fruit and yet, time with Him allows for Rest. It was in His divine plan for us to Rest in Him from the beginning.
Early Mornings
…there’s something beautiful about being disciplined to preserve these beautiful moments. And as I’ve wasted time getting lost in my list of to-do’s, contemplating wasting time on social media, and then rewinding back to my work responsibilities within the first few minutes of waking up, I’m reminded that it’s easy to slip out of the rhythms of my beautiful quiet mornings with the Lord, when I don’t choose to make it a priority. It’s easy for me to think I can do this on my own without the Holy Spirit’s help. It’s easy to slip out of these rhythms when I somehow forget the precious, holiness of these mornings…somehow…
Every Minute Spent with Him…
Every minute we devote to Him, He meets us there. Every time we set time aside with our girls, He’s meeting them, too. Every time we open His Word with our girls, Holy Spirit continues to move how only He can.
Bringing the Story to Life
Take some trips to see where an amazing story from Scripture comes to life. It’s a great way for the childlike questions our girls have, and if we’re honest, we have, to be dug into a little bit more. What a gift these places are and what faith they can help build!
Summertime Planning
As you’re planning for summertime, remember what Matthew reminds us: “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away" (24:34). Let’s consider how our Heavenly Father would like for us to spend summertime with the thing that will not pass away at the forefront of our thinking and planning for this time.
Critical Convo’s before Middle School
Time moves quickly and our daughters are growing up before our eyes. Our calendars and schedules fill up and before we know it, our girls are pre-teens and teens!
Momma, make time for important conversations with your girl to help her stay grounded in what God says about important topics and not what the world says.
Make Space for these Women
Have you ever prayed over having Godly women in your life to grow you, love you, challenge you, and encourage you?
The enemy will lie to you and tell you that you can do it all on your own. Then he will lie to you and try to make you believe you aren’t equipped. Having Godly women in your life will be important to help surround you with Truth.
Pray to have this kind of relationship for yourself. It will transform your heart and the entire temperature of your home.
One of the Greatest Gifts to our Daughters…
In the midst of our busy, I’d like to encourage you to pause and think about this:
One of the greatest gifts we can give our daughters is the healthiest version of us.
Here are ideas to begin building healthy habits with your daughter over time. When we are healthy and at our best, we are equipped to do the Lord’s work!
When the Lord Gives you a Vision: Choose Obedience
When the Lord gives us a vision and sets our hearts on fire, we have two options: Be obedient or Don’t.
By stepping into obedience, I realized that for one night, women will be able to share a small slice of their story, a slice of their time, a slice of their homemade amazing pies, but truthfully they’re sharing an experience that is a little slice “on earth as it is in Heaven”.
Fill Up Your Tank
When we don’t fill up on Him each day, it’s inevitable we will get stuck or lost. Make sure you’re filling up your cup (and gas tank), momma!
What this is About…
Walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit doesn’t happen by accident and when we walk with Him, it changes lives, families, households and generations to come. This isn’t a call for perfect momma’s, daughters and households. Who would want that anyway? This read is a reminder of what this is all about.
Making Time for What’s Important
If you’ve never tried leading a study with girls and mom’s before, here are some tips to get you started so you can lead with confidence!
Traveling Journals
Before my daughters entered pre-teen and teen years, we shared traveling journals for years. It’s just another avenue to keep lines of communication open between you and your girl.
Catching Tears
A story of encouragement, even when the obstacle in front of you seems insurmountable.
Prayer Warrior Book Club
This book helped transform my prayer life! Want to have a transformed prayer life with other moms as well? Dive into this book together.
Women’s Conference
If you can, make the trip with your girl to experience a weekend of new sights, local foods, and leaning into Him together.
A Beautiful Scene
I hear from moms that they just don’t know where to begin when it comes to their own faith and especially the faith of their children. Sometimes, you can start to learn more about who He is through someone else’s testimony.
